Last week’s weather proved a problem for some of you, especially those living away from the centre of the borough, and it was noticeable that there were empty seats in our sold out performances of Darkest Hour on Thursday. A big ‘thank you’ to our volunteers who came in to staff the venue, and allowed us to operate as normal. As Roger, our Operations Manager, put it, in response to an email enquiry as to whether we would be screening the film: ‘The Luftwaffe couldn’t stop Churchill and neither will a bit of snow’! News Update 02 April 2017

The Spumante flowed before Lion on Thursday. It was a great pleasure to celebrate our three years of films at the David Lean, especially as it was a chance to share memories and thank our friends who have attended countless screenings. Some have been a part of the campaign ever since our June 2011 meeting at the Green Dragon! The congratulations and kind words were much appreciated and it was an uplifting day that reminded us of how much the cinema means to our supporters.
