We’re thrilled to unleash one of last year’s monster hit films onto our screen for the first time. Prepare yourself for Godzilla Minus One. Set in mid-forties Japan, the film follows a pilot named Kōichi (Ryunosuke Kamiki) who is wracked with guilt, both for abandoning his kamikaze mission, and being one of only a few to survive an inexplicable attack from a giant reptile. The film’s effects earned it an Academy Award, and its action scenes are as gripping as you’d expect, but this sort-of origin story offers a uniquely sensitive take on the Godzilla legend.
