INNA DE YARD
Wednesday 9 October 2019 at 7.30pm
Black History Month screening

Ken Boothe, Kiddus I, Winston McAnuff

This joyous film sees Jamaican reggae veterans take stock of their lives and legacies. As the infectious soundtrack plays without interruption, close-up performance footage is mingled with stories of the trials faced by the musicians through their lives and careers, the troubles blighting Jamaica’s past and present, and the island’s stunning scenery. As the story progresses, younger people join these sublime performers on stage to take their inheritance forward.

2019 | Dir Peter Webber | 99min |  France

★★★★ “a music doc ingrained with joy, intrigue and urgency” Mike McCahill, The Guardian

The programme will also include our current BRIT School Showcase film RITUALS (PG, 5 mins), directed by Simisolaoluwa Akande. This reflective Year 13 film was part of a World Cinema strand.
