MONOS
Thursday 19 December 2019 at 7.30pm

Sofia Buenaventura, Julian Giraldo, Karen Quintero

Deep within the jungle of an unspecified South American country, the Monos (‘monkeys’) are a gang of child soldiers left for weeks on end without supervision. The accidental death of a cow starts their descent to infighting, and an attempt to recover their American hostage (the Doctora) by the authorities, along with her attempts to escape, break down the little civilisation left to them. Helped by an excellent, percussive score by Mica Levi, this is a beautiful, brutal film.
