Based on Michael Crichton’s bestselling novel, and with an iconic score by John Williams, Spielberg’s film is set on a tropical island where industrialist John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) and his team have created a wildlife park inhabited by re-created prehistoric animals. He invites a group of scientists to visit the park, but following a major power outage, the visitors have to battle the animals and escape the island. Probably Spielberg’s most successful film commercially, it won three technical Oscars and spawned a series of sequels.
A 35mm presentation in association with The Cinema Museum.
