COME AND JOIN US
The David Lean Cinema has always been supported by people who care about film and about their community. As a volunteer-led independent cinema, every screening depends on the time, enthusiasm and commitment of the people who help make it happen.
Many of our volunteers start by welcoming audiences as part of our front-of-house team, helping in the bar and creating the friendly atmosphere that makes a visit to the David Lean Cinema special. Over time, some volunteers choose to get involved in other areas too, from box office and stewarding to supporting screenings behind the scenes. We also have opportunities for people with particular skills or interests, including practical maintenance, brochure distribution, marketing, publicity, social media and administration.
Our projection team plays a vital role in bringing films to the screen. While projection volunteering opportunities are currently limited, we’re always grateful to hear from people with a technical interest and a passion for the craft of cinema.
You don’t need to be a film expert to join us—just someone who is reliable, approachable and keen to be part of something special in Croydon. We welcome people with different skills, experiences and interests, and provide training and support to help you find the role that’s right for you.
