In 1975, 23-year-old PK Mahanandia makes a living drawing portraits for tourists in Delhi when he meets Lotta (Anne-Charlotte von Schedvin), a Swedish student visiting India. Convinced their meeting is destiny, PK recalls a childhood prophecy that he would marry a musical woman from a far-off country, born under the sign of the ox.
