SHE’S BEEN AWAY – Stephen Poliakoff with Janet Smith
Starting with tales from Harriette Ashcroft and her brother Edward Ashcroft (Dame Peggy Ashcroft was their Great Aunt) including a reading from “A ‘Mingled Yarn’, a memoir written by Dame Peggy’s son Nick Hutchinson. On 15 July Stephen Poliakoff introduced the screening of Dame Peggy Ashcroft’s final film followed by a Q&A session with Janet Smith, the DLC Projects Officer.

Following a screening of You Hurt My Feelings on the evening of 16 May, our patron Joanna Scanlan hosted a Q&A session with Tobias Menzies who played Don in the film and the director, Nicole Holofcener live from New York.

On the evening of 24 April 2024, Director Andrew Haigh, Guardian film critic Peter Bradshaw and David Lean Cinema patron Joanna Scanlan treated the audience to a Q&A session following the screening of the much aclaimed All Of Us Strangers which was set and filmed in Andrew’s childhood home in South Croydon.

A PASSAGE TO INDIA
Following our screening of David Lean’s 1984 film A Passage To India on Saturday 25 March 2024, we recorded the Q&A session hosted by our patron Joanna Scanlan. Taking part in front of a packed auditorium were guests Art Malik (who played Ali in the film), Patrick Cadell (Assistant Director) and Pathy Aiyar (who played an extra in the film).
