MICKEY 17

MICKEY 17
2024 | Dir BongJoon Ho | 137m | USA | South Korea

Stars: Robert Pattinson, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo

Bong Joon Ho is back after his 3 Oscar wins for Parasite! The long-awaited Mickey 17 takes viewers to a sci-fi future world where life is cheap, and Mickey’s only escape from debt and misery is to sign up as an “expendable” for a right-wing demagogue who wants to create a fascist utopia in space, at the expense of any species that already live there. Mickey’s job is to die in ever stranger circumstances and be born again the next day into a new body…until the day he doesn’t die, and Mickey 18 is created. Mark Ruffalo gives a great performance as a very familiar “leader” and Toni Collette is his equally vile wife.
