This much-loved adaptation of E. Nesbit’s children’s novel still delights family audiences over 40 years on. When their father is mysteriously arrested, Bobbie, Phyllis, Peter and their mother are forced to move from their grand house in London to a little cottage near a railway station, where they meet the porter, Mr Perks. After many adventures they are finally reunited with their father – have your tissues at the ready!

Bill Nighy, Sam Riley, Jenny Agutter

Writer Frank Cottrell-Boyce and first-time director Carl Hunter have come up with an engaging, offbeat comedy set around the game of Scrabble. Bill Nighy plays Alan, a retired tailor and Scrabble master, still searching for his favourite son who walked out of the family home after a row over the board game and didn’t come back. His other son Peter (Sam Riley) has always felt underappreciated, and things come to ahead when Alan moves into Peter’s house, now investigating an online Scrabble player whose style seems all too familiar.

2018 | Dir Carl Hunter | 91min | UK

The programme will also include our current BRIT School Showcase film PR By ENZO, a music video directed by Lucia Claus.
