MR BURTON
2025 | Dir Marc Evans | 124m | UK

Stars: Harry Lawtey, Toby Jones, Lesley Manville
Richard Jenkins is a teenager living with his married sister and about to leave school. His teacher, Mr Burton, recognises his interest in the arts and acting, and volunteers to coach him as he moves from amateur theatrics to West End fame as Richard Burton. Told with a good deal of humour as well as gritty drama, Marc Evans’s film charts the actor’s journey, and his relationship with the man of whom Elizabeth Taylor said: “Without Philip Burton, that great rolling voice would never have been heard outside the valley”.
The afternoon screening is subtitled for those with hearing loss.
