2024 | Dir Mike Leigh | 97m | UK | Spain
Stars: Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Michele Austin, David Webber

Yet again, the collaboration between Mike Leigh and Marianne Jean-Baptiste works its magic in this powerful look at ordinary families and why their members behave the way they do. Pansy is a difficult, unhappy woman who is disappointed in almost everyone, everything and life itself! The story unfolds like the layers of an onion and we start to learn something of what has made her this way. Her family love her despite her ways, but are not spared her wrath. Can Pansy ever fully come to terms with herself and her issues?

Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Hayley Squires, Leo Bill

Following on from The Duke of Burgundy, Peter Strickland gives us another essay in the sensual and the macabre. Set around a very unique department store (filmed in Croydon’s Allders), various characters try to measure up to a spectacular red dress that they sell. With some wonderfully absurdist dialogue and a cast of characters from the ordinary to the completely bizarre, this is a delight for connoisseurs of the unusual.

2018 | Dir Peter Strickland | 118min | UK

“a slyly hilarious Italian horror homage about a demonic frock and the even more sinister forces that compel us to shop” – Peter Debruge, Variety

Ticket Prices:
£7.50 (Standard), £6.00 (Concessions), £5.00 (25 and under).
