To celebrate the unique cinema talent that was David Lynch, we present a screening of his 1990 Cannes Film Festival winner. Sailor and Lula are madly in love, but Lula’s mother is less than happy about this, as Sailor has just left jail. When the pair decide to escape to California, breaking Sailor’s probation, Lula’s mother sends two of her ex-lovers to hunt him down. Lynch turns the classic road movie to his own surreal style, painting a picture of America that is violent and ugly, but where no-one really cares.
