Director: Matthew Heineman
Stars: Rosamund Pike, Jamie Dornan, Tom Hollander, Stanley Tucci
Marie Colvin was an acclaimed war correspondent working for the Sunday Times. With her cameraman Paul Conroy, she entered the Syrian city of Homs, just as Assad’s forces began attacking the refugees there, and died in the consequent bombing. The film follows Colvin’s career from Sri Lanka (where she loses an eye) to Afghanistan and Libya, showing how PTSD affected her personal and professional relationships. Rosamund Pike gives a gritty performance as this heroic, but damaged, journalist.
(Rosamund) Pike… is never less than convincing, inviting audiences into the minefield of Colvin’s mind – Peter Debruge, Critic’s Pick, Variety

Fiona Maye is a scrupulous High Court judge who serves her role with diligence. Her devotion to her work takes a toll, however, when she begins to neglect her husband. Suddenly, Fiona finds herself treading a tenuous path: as her marriage reaches a crisis point, she must also choose whether to permit a blood transfusion for a teen with cancer despite his family’s religiously-motivated refusal. A sophisticated drama based on the eponymous novel by Ian McEwan, with an elegant performance from Thompson.

Stars: Geoffrey Rush, Armie Hammer, Clémence Poésy, Tony Shalhoub
When art dealer James Lord (Hammer) agrees to sit for the great Alberto Giacometti (the ever-excellent Rush), he expects it to take a matter of days – yet progress proves maddeningly slow, and Lord is gradually drawn into Giacometti’s complicated personal life.
Tucci applies a light comic touch to this study of a celebrated artist in his final years, creating “a delightful Paris chamber piece” (The Telegraph).
