While Istanbul is developing rapidly, kedi (cats) – both domestic and wild – still run freely through the old quarters.

 

 

We meet kedi as different as fearsome neighbourhood queen Psikopat and mild-mannered deli mascot Duman, and the artists, fishermen and market traders who live with them and care for them on the streets.

 

 

This charming, ingeniously filmed documentary is a hymn to both the bond between humans and animals, and the rhythms of life in this ancient and magical city.

Plus a BRIT School Showcase film, screened in partnership with the School’s Film & Media Production department.

For October we are showing Cycliste De Reve (4 mins), directed by Caleb Pithers-Gregory. This story of a boy’s efforts to gain a new bicycle recently won the School’s Best Year 12 Short Film award. 
 
A different film will be shown at selected screenings each month.

Bringing a baby is not compulsory but we cannot guarantee a quiet auditorium during this screening! 

Intending patrons should note that the lights will not be fully dimmed during the screening and that people may need to move around.
