Mustang beach scene

After their behaviour on an innocent trip to the beach is misinterpreted by their controlling, conservative elders, five Turkish sisters are imprisoned in their own home, forbidden from any contact with the outside world until their marriages are arranged.

Despite their confinement, the sisters’ close bond – and Ergüven’s “deft timing and unapologetic celebration of beauty” (New York Times) – ensure that this Academy Award nominated drama never loses a sense of hope in the face of despair.

Review: from the New York Times – Times – (including a clip from the film) or the Washington Post – Post (come on British papers, let’s have your views…).

Neither review links to the Trailer.  The French trailer (with English subtitles – weird?) can be found here on YouTube, while the US trailer is below (come on Brits, where are you?).
