The apparently idyllic family life of successful surgeon Steven Murphy (Farrell) takes a nightmarish turn after he invites a young man (Keoghan) into his home and is forced to make a terrible choice.
Lanthimos, the director of The Lobster, brings his characteristic sense of disquiet to illuminate Murphy’s dilemma, while Keoghan – last seen as stowaway George in Dunkirk – is a truly sinister presence, making for “an unforgettably unnerving experience” (Empire magazine).
